Mattmobile
With some pangs of regret, I sold the Mattmobile in September, 2000. I now have a 1998 Nissan Maxima, which was the subject of my latest car audio project.
The previous Mattmobile was an 88 Toyota Corolla SR5, and my teething ring for car audio. What started out as a simple replacement of everything in the stock locations soon turned into an epic saga of cutting new speaker holes in the doors, running power wires in the middle of December, and spending half a summer fiberglassing a custom sub enclosure.
I also added a custom GPS/Palm Pilot mount and Yakima roof rack. This car and I went thought a lot together, from all those trips to high school senior year, four years of treks home from Cornell, tons of mountain biking and snowboarding trips, and a 7576-mile cross-country trip.
