This project was actually two projects: shooting remotely with my MacBook and experimenting with the classic window portrait. Shooting remotely was a much quicker way to review and tweak self-portraits. Though not every setting is accessible, it's very nice to be able to get a larger image for review.

Playing with the light was quite educational. The natural window light as a side light threw a good bit of shadow, which could be filled in to varying degrees with white and silver reflectors. (The reflectors were just white cardboard and aluminum foil, about 10 x 12 inches in size.) I also experimented with the built-in flash and an older external unit, though my lack of understanding the manual settings of the latter didn't lead to any compelling photos.

I also took some long-overdue photos of me and Meadow together, which was more fun than expected (for me, at least). The midday winter light was a bit harsh, so all the photos have been warmified. Other than that, they're basically as is out of the camera and 50mm lens.
