I've been driving past Norristown Farm Park every day on my way to work, so it was great to finally shoot it. This was also a first real outdoor test of my new EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS lens, polarizing filter, and some of the techniques I've been reading about in Understanding Exposure. It was a mild winter Saturday, and a great shoot.

In addition to all the people (and dogs) out walking, a whole herd of deer bounced across the field before ducking back into the woods. The wide-to-telephoto range of the lens gave me some nice flexibility, and with the polarizer and tripod, I got some nice long-exposure shots of several waterfalls. I also combined two shots to get the dramatic silos; in hindsight I could've used the tripod to get a few perfectly-aligned images for a high-dynamic range composition, but the two handheld ones were close enough to merge background and foreground.
