DPS recently had a neat post on How to Shoot Light Trails, which made the perfect test for my new Bogen-Manfrotto 725B Digi Tripod. Bundling up for a mild but still chilly winter sunset, I headed out to the 422 curve across from St. Gabriel's.
There was time for a few sunset shots before I caught my first good light trail while working on a low tree and fence composition. The curves of 422 below provided many more opportunities, though in retrospect I realized that I really need to use a remote shutter or timer more to prevent camera shake.
The tripod worked quite nicely: the ball head was much quicker to setup shots, the quick release is slick and solid, and it's light enough to move around easily. All it needs is a built-in fire pit to keep me warm!
