The last day of 2007 was a clear, pleasant one, so I set out to Valley Forge park to capture the last sunset. Afterwards, Chandra and I took some portraits before heading to a New Year's Eve and birthday party for David with the local yoga community. After a vegetarian feast, we rang in the new year with songs and poems, and celebrated with a bit of birthday cake.
Shooting at dusk with a tripod was a nice new experience; long exposures with my prime lens yielded some great results, and there were some unexpected sights after the sun went down. It also cooled off quickly - I'll have to dress warmer next time and bring a flashlight! Indoors at the party I did the usual dance of avoiding the flash while still trying to get enough light; manual mode is fast becoming my friend.
